Solid understanding of the
accounting profession

Background in or in-depth
knowledge of state government and state legislative, regulatory and executive
branch processes and procedures

Ability to build and
maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders
·
Professional demeanor with
the ability to display good judgment and diplomacy in dealing with key
stakeholders
·
Ability to communicate
effectively and represent the AICPA before stakeholder groups
·
Ability to think strategically
and problem-solve under pressure and within short time periods
·
Strong writing skills and
the ability to create message points on legislative and regulatory issues
·
Strong leadership skills.
·
Ability to be a consensus
builder and to work collaboratively and independently
·
Ability to travel
domestically
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
·
Minimum of 12 years related
experience
·
Previous experience in leading and
managing a team
EDUCATION REQUIRED
·
Bachelor’s
degree in business or related field
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED
·
MBA
degree preferred
·
Certified
Association Executive (CAE) designation
