Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Working closely with and under the direction of the Anti-Fraud Initiatives team, performs open-source research on current and emerging issues that have a nexus to fraud deterrence and detection
- Supports the development of CAQ resources and publications
- Assists the Anti-Fraud Initiatives team on CAQ-sponsored conference panels and webcasts on foundational topics and core issues relevant to corporate culture, skepticism, emerging technologies, and fraud risk
- Attends webinars and conferences on forensics-related topics and summarizes and reports internally on key takeaways
- Summarize updates on key policy developments issued by regulators such as the SEC and PCAOB and standard setters such as the IAASB that are relevant to fraud risk management, compliance, and other related issues
- Shadows team members as they engage with CAQ committees, task forces, and working groups involving the leadership of member firms and stakeholders
- Provides support to Research team as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Strong writing skills and verbal communication, with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Elementary knowledge of the US accounting and auditing regulatory environment
- Basic understanding of auditing and financial principles
- Ability to adhere to timelines and due dates, including the ability to work well under tight time constraints
- Motivated to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
- Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office suite
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
- Undergraduate junior or senior actively working towards a Bachelor in Accounting or an individual pursuing a Master in Accounting
The CAQ team is currently working remotely in compliance with CDC recommendations to curb the spread of COVID-19. As a result, this internship can be entirely remote. Should we return to the office before the end of the internship period, we will welcome you to join us in the office or stay remote, as you are most comfortable.
