Are you a qualified accountancy professional with experience developing high-quality assessment materials? We are looking for experienced professionals to join us on a part-time freelance contract for a fixed period (approximately 9-11 months).

About the Role:

You will develop assessment materials for the CGMA Professional Qualification that reflect the real-world skills and behaviours required of future finance leaders.

You will develop realistic and engaging examination materials for the CGMA Professional Qualification, ensuring they align with the CIMA syllabus, assessment objectives, and quality standards. This is an opportunity to help shape the next generation of finance professionals while contributing to the integrity and relevance of CIMA's qualifications.

Opportunities are available across all three levels of the CGMA Professional Qualification: Operational, Management, and Strategic. Please note your preference in your application, as we may consider you for any level.

This is a fully remote freelance role, with occasional travel to CIMA's UK offices in London.

You Will:

  • Develop realistic and engaging case study examinations for the CGMA Professional Qualification.
  • Create pre-seen materials and business scenarios that provide a credible context for assessment.
  • Design examination tasks that assess syllabus knowledge, competencies, and students' professional skills.
  • Produce multiple exam variants of equivalent difficulty and syllabus coverage.
  • Develop model answers and marking schemes to support reliable marking.
  • Ensure all materials align with the published CGMA syllabus, assessment objectives, and quality standards.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on materials developed by fellow writers.
  • Revise and refine assessment materials in response to reviewer and CIMA feedback.
  • Attend review, standardisation, and development meetings.
  • Support the Assessment team by responding to assessment-related queries and contributing to the continuous improvement of case study examinations.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of all examination materials and associated information.

You will commit time to complete agreed deliverables and project deadlines throughout the development cycle.

You Have:

  • CGMA qualification or another recognised professional accountancy qualification.
  • Technical expertise across at least two of the Enterprise, Financial, and Performance pillars.
  • Experience of writing, reviewing, or quality-assuring assessment materials that use realistic and engaging business scenarios.
  • Commercial awareness and current industry knowledge.
  • Experience managing deliverables on different timescales
  • Commitment to the CIMA Code of Ethics.
