About the Role:

CIMA is looking for volunteers from the Accounting Profession and lay members to serve on its Appeals Panel and Review Panel. These two governance committees uphold public confidence in the integrity of CIMA's examinations.

The Review Panel:

  • Consider complaints alleging misconduct or an exam regulations breach where there is no direct evidence of how the breach occurred.
  • Consider cases of End Point Assessment malpractice concerning the Apprenticeship programme.
  • Consider complex cases of up to 10 days work per annum.

The Appeals Panel

  • Consider complaints alleging misconduct or an exam regulations breach where there is direct evidence of how the breach occurred.
  • Consider appeals against decisions made by the Review Panel.
  • Oversee the examinations' special consideration and special accommodations policies, guidance and procedures.
  • Consider cases equivalent to 10 days work per annum

The time commitment is likely to be varied due to the ad-hoc nature of the cases. We are looking for individuals with flexible schedules to consider cases at short notice.

Appointment does not guarantee any minimum number of days' involvement in CIMA work. Please note that CIMA and the Association are offering these roles on a freelance contract basis only, not as direct employees.
