About the Role:

You will implement the AICPA's state legislative and regulatory strategy. You will report to the VP - State Advocacy and State Society Relations and use a hybrid work schedule. You will have two direct reports.

You Will:

  • Work with the VP to provide strategic advice to state regulatory and legislative team members in the development of cohesive political and grassroots state strategies that support legislative engagement and advance AICPA's overall advocacy agenda.
  • Represent and lead important policy discussions on behalf of the AICPA at regulator, legislative, state society, Boards of Accountancy and other partner meetings, including engaging with industry peers and representing AICPA with businesses, trade, political and policy groups and serving on committees, taskforces, and boards.
  • Direct the use of AICPA's policies, positions and engagement in legislative and regulatory activity. Author articles, testimony, materials and online content, participate in internal and external presentations and speaking engagements, and provide information and analysis to AICPA other external partners.
  • Manage the state legislative and regulatory specialist on legislative and regulatory tracking and monitoring functions for the team.
  • Direct the AICPA Uniform Accountancy Act (UAA) Committee on important profession-related issues through the development of UAA model law. Additionally, facilitate conversations with NASBA on model regulatory rule implementation.
  • Guide important strategic goals of the UAA and its Committee to best serve the public the professions serves.
  • Oversee the development of the CPA license, licensure pathways, and CPA mobility provisions across 55 jurisdictions.
  • Direct CPA license-related policies, specifically policies related to CPA firm mobility, CPA ethics, and CPE reciprocity to help facilitate uniformity between jurisdictions.

You Have:

  • 10+ years' experience, including operations of state legislative/regulatory affairs.
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, business or related field.

The Salary Range for this role is: $165,000 - $213,000 per annum. There is no equity, commission or other non-wage compensation,
