Lead Manager - Test Development (Contract)

About the Role:

You will manage the CPA Exam item inventory, development plans for new items, business ownership of technology and systems involved with item development and banking, and performance of other test development activities linked to the CPA Exam. You will report to the Senior Manager of Test Development and work from our offices in Ewing, NJ or remotely.

You Will:

  • Oversee the development of CPA Exam inventory by working collaboratively with content specialists and psychometricians.
  • Be the lead for test development, fairness, editorial and formatting review of items before their use on the CPA Exam.
  • Be the business owner for custom software systems, including strategic planning for development, maintenance and improvement of technical aspects of the system.
  • Partner with the Exams Compliance to ensure that appropriate internal controls are documented and implemented for audit compliance
  • Support the Exams leadership team by preparing information for the Board of Examiners and other Exam partners
  • In future, you may line manage an analyst.

You Have:

  • 6+ years professional work experience in test development or a related field
  • A Bachelors' degree or equivalent additional experience
  • HTML & XML proficiency - not required
  • Technical understanding, Excel/spreadsheet skills, and familiarity with databases and computer technologies and systems. Experienced in working with IT professionals as part of the examination preparation and delivery process.
  • Experience leading new projects related to the item development process or improvement strategy.
  • Familiarity with educational measurement concepts and experience working with psychometricians.
  • Some supervisory skills with the ability to hire and develop staff, if necessary.
