Summary of Role
Formulate the strategy and vision to lead a marketing and communications team to promote and increase CIMA’s profile within the region.
 
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Raise CIMA’s profile and brand awareness across the region.
  • Improve CIMA’s positioning against local professional accounting bodies.
  • Generate prospects and increase student recruitment.
  • Enhance the member value proposition.
  • Enhance progression and retention.
  • Increase membership and maintain membership retention.
  • Promote CIMA’s qualification, products and services.
  • Select and manage third party supplier relationships.
  • Oversee PR agency / In house representative to ensure that CIMA is profiled appropriately and AVE achieved across key channels.
  • Increase brand awareness through multiple-distribution channels.
  • Responsible for brand guardianship across the region and developing and approving brand collateral.
  • Work with regional director and management teams to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver high performance marketing, PR and communications.
  • Liaise with marketing and communications colleagues across all markets within the continent and globally to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote events as needed in designated markets.
  • Formulate the marketing and communication strategy, tactical plan and develop the budget accordingly
  • Enable a high performance team culture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Self-starter and able to manage self and others including suppliers; Team player;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Solid understanding of media processes; design and production
  • Strong planning and organisational skills;
  • Computer literate ( Word, Excel, internet, emails)
  • Strong administrative skills;
  • Able to work under pressure;
  • Good listening, communication and presentation skills;
  • Creative and innovative; Agile and receptive to new ideas
  • A conceptual thinker
  • Ability to understand the needs of Africa and respond to such needs in Africa
     
     
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • Matric or equivalent high school diploma;
  • Tertiary education – Communication degree/PR diploma or Public Relations Practice Course (PRISA) or other relevant qualification;
  • 5-7 year’ related experience including:
  • taking a project from concept to completion;
  • Media liaison experience;
  • Strong Operations marketing experience essential
  • Writing and editing experience;
  • Budgeting exposure;
 
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • Member of PRISA – PRP or CPRP level; i.e. 5-8 years’ experience at an executive level
  • Corporate publishing experience
