About the Role:

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining middleware solutions within an organization. Plays a critical role in ensuring communication and integration between different systems and applications. The role involves architectural design, configuration, development, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and team leadership. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements and designs middleware architectures that align with organizational goals. You will report into Senior Manager – Engineering .

You will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and architect middleware solutions that meet the organization's technical and business requirements.
  • Lead the implementation and configuration of middleware technologies, such as application servers, message queues, service buses, and integration platforms.
  • Assist in day-to-day production/non-production issues, act as escalation point to resolve urgent and/or complex issues and manage expectations.
  • Plan and execute middleware integration projects, including integration with various systems, databases, and applications.
  • Monitor the performance of middleware systems, identify bottlenecks, and optimize middleware configurations for optimal performance and scalability.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of middleware systems by implementing appropriate security measures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. Establish and enforce middleware governance practices, ensuring adherence to organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the performance of the Middleware and identify areas for optimization. Analyze system metrics, perform tuning activities, and collaborate with technical teams to improve system performance and response times. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as development teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration and successful delivery of middleware solutions.

You have:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with various middleware technologies, such as application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic), message queues (e.g., Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ), service buses (e.g., Oracle Service Bus, MuleSoft, IBM Integration Bus), and integration platforms (e.g., Oracle Integration Cloud, Dell Boomi, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform). 
  • Experience with middleware architectural principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in integration patterns and techniques, including point-to-point integration, publish-subscribe messaging, request-response patterns, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, and scripting languages such as Shell scripting or PowerShell. . 
  • Experience in administering and configuring middleware technologies, including setup, installation, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of configuration management tools and techniques for efficient management of middleware infrastructure. 
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of middleware professionals.
