Make a positive impact on the profession by driving efforts to enhance audit quality, consider the effect of professional standards on public accounting firms and tackle unique challenges in a team-oriented environment that provides continuous value to the profession. Obtain and evaluate data to identify educational opportunities for public accounting firms, peer reviewers and others involved in administering the AICPA Peer Review Program (Program). The Program is dedicated to enhancing the quality of accounting, auditing and attestation engagements performed by public accounting member firms.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Program and an understanding of the administrative processes.
  • Assist the State CPA Society peer review committees, peer reviewers and firms with peer review questions, which may relate to quality control and other standards.
  • Serve as a staff liaison to the AICPA Peer Review Board, its advisory task forces and committees. Assist in developing meeting materials and providing research/project assistance.
  • Identify opportunities to develop standards, guidance, practice aids and other resources for firms, peer reviewers, state CPA Society peer review committees and others.
  • Analyze peer reviewers’ working papers and perform onsite oversight of peer reviews.
  • Determine the impact of new standards and services on the Program and share this information with other members of the team. This includes, but is not limited to, the activities of the ASB, ARSC, Ethics, GAO, DOL, IASB, IAASB, SEC and PCAOB.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • CPA designation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Minimum five years of public accounting experience or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and quality control standards
  • Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Member service oriented
  • Capable of dealing effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of individuals and assignments
  • Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with solution-oriented working approach
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Good problem and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with governmental and/or employee benefit plan audits
