The Center for Audit Quality has an incredible story to tell. We are a nonprofit membership organization comprised of public company audit firms that contribute to the stability of capital markets that underpin the American economy. We are looking for someone to join our team and help us tell powerful stories.


The Center for Audit Quality is looking for an intern to join our Stakeholder Engagement and Communications team. The intern will provide critical support on day-to-day projects.


Hours: 8-20 hours per week

Term of Position: Fall 2020 thru Spring 2021     This internship is scheduled to start in mid-October 2020 and end on May 31, 2021.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Support content development and publishing for the CAQ’s email, social media, web and public relation efforts. 
  • Support earned media efforts, including developing interview briefing materials, tracking media engagements, news monitoring and building media lists. 
  • Use research tools to identify and track relevant stakeholders important to the CAQ’s ongoing initiatives, making recommendations on how to engage with them.  
  • Conduct research to drive insights on communications and stakeholder engagement strategy.  
  • Support in monthly metrics reporting on performance of key digital and earned media tactics.  
  • Provide additional support to the Directors of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong writer with an interest in learning about the impact of financial reporting on our capital markets.
  • Independent, a self-starter and quick learner.
  • Interested in running strategic campaigns, from planning to execution.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Current bachelor’s degree candidate in Communications or Public Relations.
  • Junior or senior year with an expected graduation date of May 2021 or later. 
  • Strong written and oral communications skills and research experience.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Preferred start date: Mid-October
