Senior External Relations Manager - Regional (China)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to understand and synthesize complex technical issues and present them in user-friendly messages or through visual representations.
- Crisis communication, risk and reputation management and planning skills
- Knowledge of the financial services, accounting, government, media landscape in assigned markets
- Demonstrated experience working with senior executives and collaborating across an organization to achieve desired results, including creating executive level leadership on communications programs
- Experience with working across multiple stakeholders to create and deliver external relations programmes and represent the organisation as a spokesperson in external relations forums
- Experience in directing others in scanning multiple media channels
- Experience working with media through a variety of channels
- Experience in leading crisis communication and reputation issues management
- Communications and PR Agency selection and management
- Experience of working concurrently with multiple stakeholders and managing relationships
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills such as preparing presentations, writing speeches, articles and scripts
- Excellent verbal communication skills with experience in presenting information to groups and individuals
- Stakeholder management skills with demonstrated experience working with senior executives and collaborating across an organization to achieve desired results
- Strong working knowledge of the media, extensive established media contacts, and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with them at the national and grassroots levels
- Expert level knowledge of relevant trends within the profession; understands who to broadcast to internally and externally
- Experience in directing others in scanning multiple media channels
- Knowledge regulatory/governing environment
- Deadline oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Cision or other media relations databases
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education:
- Fluency in English (oral and written) required
- Fluency in local language based on location
- 7+ year demonstrable experience in public relations and communications in a corporate or agency environment
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education:
- Experience in working in the Accounting, Finance or Financial Services sectors
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- 10 years demonstrable experience in public relations and communications in a corporate or agency environment
