Summary of Role

Lead, oversee and execute strategic and operational responsibilities critical to whole organizational implementation of enterprise content strategy (ECS). Oversee global strategy for and activation of enterprise-level content including managing internal and external contributors, implementing and managing new systems and oversight of more than 20 owned member and customer channels. Manages complexities of implementing and operationalizing a whole-organization change management plan impacting 30% of Association staff across multiple functions and reporting lines.  

 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Play key role in developing the ECS yearly strategic plan
  • Oversee execution of high quality, accurate, timely content deliverables to communicate on Association initiatives and key professional issues and are compelling, engaging and accurate

  • Responsible for editorial direction, content strategy and global execution of the annual corporate theme

  • Plan and manage Content Alignment Board activities, a cross-functional group of content leaders who set direction for organization-wide priorities; setting and managing the global content editorial calendar. Resolve conflicts, duplications and inefficiencies across business units, geographies and functions.

  • Oversee an omni-channel approach to content activation and reputation monitoring through more than 20 official corporate communications vehicles - balancing revenue, member value, profession and brand considerations.

  • Oversee and manage overall content operations strategy, analytics and reporting; works to identify inefficiencies and advocate for data-supported solutions.

  • Leads “Level Up” content creators program designed to train more than 300 content creators on best practices and raise the level of content quality across the organization. Navigates complexities of working across content teams, from technical to learning to promotions with goal of driving consensus from divergent viewpoints.

  • Set, measure and assess ECS KPIs, delivering insights dashboards to leadership and content creators.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Understanding of sensitivities and nuances on multiple issues and involving different stakeholders

  • Experience managing a global team across multiple time-zones

  • Understanding of global business environment

  • Organizational and leadership abilities to influence others, resolve conflicting viewpoints and build consensus

  • Excellent project planning and management to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strategic thinking, solid data analysis and strong decision making

  • Effective researching, writing and editing

  • Exceptional ability in Jvs4164 and editing

  • Proficiency in English

  • Working knowledge of online platforms like WordPress, content management systems and SEO concepts

  • Abilities in planning and coordinating people and operations

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Reliability and efficiency

  • Ability to spot trends in business, academia, careers and relate them to accounting profession

  • Ability to translate complex and/or technical information into thought leadership messaging

  • Ability to present complex and/or technical information visually (slides, infographics, images, charts/graphs, etc.)

  • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and similar software or web-based solutions (Apple’s Keynote, Prezi). Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign; proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of social media

  • Commitment to quality

  • Ability to travel


Required Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ communications experience in a corporate or agency environment including:

    • Demonstrated success in developing thought leadership collateral, using numerous data points and getting input from subject matter experts

    • Experience setting editorial direction, content strategy and execution/tactical plans

    • Experience with producing, publishing or preparing creative slide presentations, backgrounds, talking/message points, articles, reports, emails, video scripts, executive summaries, blog posts, infographics, etc.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or a related field

 

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Master’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or a related field
  • Experience or knowledge of CPA profession and/or financial services industry, or other technical field
  • Experience with website content management
