Summary of Role:

Lead key day to day activities of the Association’s organization-wide governance activities including initiatives related to CIMA Council and its related volunteer committees, key management accounting committees of the Board, support for the Board including the MA Board and ensuring tight coordination and alignment with overall Association activities. Drive innovation and enable agile governance which facilitates at all times, stakeholder support, and expedient decision making to drive the profession and membership forward.

 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of governance support to the CIMA Honorary Officers in fulfilling their responsibilities and guiding the organization in their non-executive capacity.  Team with the Management Accounting CEO in driving the evolution of Council in executing their roles and responsibilities in line with the JVE agreement and constitutional permissions.

  • Establish a rolling calendar of CIMA’s global governance activities and key activities to drive obtainment of the Association’s strategy and plan; innovating and refreshing as appropriate to ensure consistency of approach and standards, providing advice to Chairs, Members and Secretaries as needed.

  • Manage the Annual General Meeting and any Extraordinary General Meetings which may be required from time to time; and, to oversee the successful organisation and delivery of the annual, prestigious, President’s Dinner/President’s Event

  • Manage the complete Council processes from initiation of meetings; agendas, preparation of requisite governance documentation; policy & protocol papers, to dispatch of minutes and coordinating all follow up actions; acting as the source of information and advice and centre of excellence for the conduct and organisation of Council

  • Support and team with CIMA Council Committees and their staff liaisons in executing their roles and responsibilities including minutes and logistics.

  • Lead induction and training for the Honorary Officers, Council, other Committee members as needed

  • Serve as the staff liaison to CIMA’s Appointments Committee including overseeing elections, awards procedures

  • Manage the work of the Executive Assistant to the President & Honorary Officers to ensure appropriate planning of the member and student related activities including travel and participation in global and local events.  Coordinate the calendar and messaging with the RVPs and Communications to optimize related local and global events, support members engagement, and interact with local stakeholders and key customers across the Honorary Officer and Senior Leadership teams

  • Critical thinker, strong analytical skills and ability to grasp detail.

  • Able to work in an agile, open plan and demanding work environment.

  • Flexible on working times and ability to travel if and when required

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education:

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Significant years’ of experience, including:

    • Experience in a professional body/senior administrative role
    • Experience in line management of staff
    • Experience with minute taking and preparation of agendas
    • Experience working with committees and managing the meeting process

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education:

  • Project management skills

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft applications
