Senior Manager - State Advocacy Communications

About the Role:

You will lead advocacy campaigns that strengthen the Association's relationships and visibility with state CPA societies, state boards of accountancy, and other important partners. You will ensure congruous messaging across the organization, promote the Association's value proposition, and support advocacy priorities through integrated communications. You will report to the Director - State Society Relations and use a hybrid work schedule.

 

You Will:

  • Develop advocacy communications strategies and campaigns targeted at state CPA societies and other allied advocacy partners, ensuring consistency, technical accuracy, and agreement on Association priorities.
  • Establish and manage Association-wide communications approach for state CPA societies, including schedule, channels, and content standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and effectiveness of communications efforts, using insights and metrics to refine strategy and improve outcomes.
  • Identify latest policy, reputational, or partner risks and collaborate with our teams to provide coordinated responses.
  • Communicate the value of the Association to state CPA societies, boards of accountancy, and other important audiences.
  • Develop relationships with all partners to stay aligned on priorities, opportunities, and potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with state CPA societies and advocacy partners to ensure consistency in messaging and agreement on important programs.
  • Coordinate across our teams to align communications and engagement strategies or state CPA societies and other partners.
  • Ensure information flow across teams to promote informed decision-making and aligned execution

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • 7+ years' experience in public relations and communications in either an agency, association, corporate environment, government, or journalism background; or other related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing content and implementing multi-channel advocacy communications campaigns.
  • Understanding of the accounting profession and broader finance/business environment is helpful.

The salary range for the role is $140,000 - 160,000 per year There is no non-wage compensation.
