About the Role:
You will represent the Association's interest in legislative and regulatory based advocacy efforts. Evaluate tax legislative and regulatory tax issues for two assigned technical tax areas. Work with and motivate assigned technical resource panels to maximize effectiveness, quality and productivity related to advocacy efforts. Develop professionally written advocacy-based positions and communicate those positions with IRS, Treasury, Congressional tax writing committees, developers and administrators of tax policy, and with members and the public. Collaborate with other AICPA teams, the Congressional and Legislative Affairs, and Tax Practice Management and Ethics Teams. You will report to the Director of Tax Policy & Advocacy.
You Will:
- Tax Policy and Advocacy
Lead the development of well-written, timely advocacy positions on legislative or regulatory changes in the assigned technical areas.
- Manage Technical Resource Panels
Manage technical resource panels to monitor tax legislative and regulatory issues. Coordinate the review, and submission of approved advocacy positions in the assigned technical areas.
- Outreach and Communications
Coordinate and help communicate practical information about advocacy efforts related to tax legislative and regulatory developments in the assigned technical areas to help educate members and the public and promote advocacy efforts.
- Association Priorities
Support Association programs by reaching out to other Association teams and state societies, and working with external organizations. Foster communication and collaboration across the Association.
- Relationships
Develop relationships with important individuals in government, Congress, state societies, and other organizations to promote tax advocacy positions and stay informed of latest issues.
You Have:
Bachelors' Degree in Accounting
CPA designation
8+ years related experience
Knowledge of federal tax law
Knowledge of tax legislative and regulatory processes
Project management skills
Ideas to build Tax Division strategic plans

The Salary Range is: $128,000 - $213,000 per annum
