Summary of Role
Acts as the “voice of the customer” (as articulated by the App Designers/Architects and participating firm representatives) virtually embedded in the development process, ensuring that the work done aligns with the project objectives and priorities, and that the product being developed exceeds customer expectations.  Incumbent focuses approximately 25% on methodology team, 65% on application development team, of which Product Manager/Owner is a member, and 10% working with external vendors to manage features, timing and dependencies.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining the product backlog, including fleshing out the feature requirements (user stories), priorities and sequence of the product development (product roadmap).
  • Responsible for coordinating, preparing for and leading sprint reviews with the Stakeholder group.
  • Facilitate the efforts of the App Designers/Architects, Stakeholder Group, Subject Matter Consultative Groups and Methodology and App Development Teams, shielding them from unnecessary distractions, unrealistic or impractical timelines and/or changes, etc. whenever possible.  
  • Collaborate and co-ordinate product messaging and instructions, including marketing materials, campaigns to promote DAS, promotional materials, e-mail campaigns and marketing and search engine campaigns to promote DAS.
  • Mange trademarks, branding/logos, domain ownership, website, etc.
  • Develop and maintain the business plan, budget and track/report budget to actuals to stakeholder groups.
  • Maintain a roadmap of features that reflect a prioritized, market driven project strategy. These features should be defined and, when appropriate, updated based on ongoing check-ins with the stakeholders,customers and the market need. This includes face to face or remote meetings, keeping up to date with industry research, competitor research, co-ordinating market research or surveys, BETA releases, or demos with focus groups.
  • Work with various teams to collaborate on and co-ordinate post release activities such as setting and monitoring KPIs through usage analytics, sales figures, customer feedback channels, customer issues, and monitoring (and engaging with?) discussion of the product online. 
  • Ensure that the product has proven user experience and quality – including partnering closely with the DAS of Manager of Solution Quality.
  • Build and maintain responsibility with the various groups and partners who will work together to bring this product to market.
  • Frame and host discussions with the management and stakeholders, including discussing any major changes in direction, questions about major product features and any major roadblocks to the product timeline.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Prior product or project management or business analysis experience.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Strong analytical and cross-group collaboration skills to drive product management consensus; ability to collaborate with diverse groups in a cross functional organization.
  • Ability to execute regarding business, organizational, product management and cross functional issues in bringing a new product to market.
  • Proven track record of successfully defining, designing, and developing large scale projects.  
  • Ability to leverage others’ skill-sets in product management.
  • Solid understanding of the intersection between stake-holder needs, technology and business processes.  
  • Ability to think several steps ahead and recognize implications of actions.
  • Ability to recognize and efficiently manage relationships and implication of different initiatives and the opportunities or conflicts they might create.
  • Ability to create or improve work processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.  
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Visio).  
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 6-8 years experience at a public accounting firm including:
  • Experience serving as product manager for large, enterprise product
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum and/or other iterative software development processes
  • Technology and software development background

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education 
CPA and/or MBA
