Senior Specialist - Marketing & Events Management - Africa

What you will do:

This role plays an integral part in building and engaging external and internal stakeholders, creating effective digital and events strategies that will promote the long-term growth of CIMA Africa and enhances employee engagement. This role is responsible for executing effective  marketing strategies, developing Africa-wide and also  market specific traditional and digital campaigns and overseeing these from concept to conclusion; conducting market research and analyzing data to determine the most effective way to reach target demographics.


This role is also required  to conceptualize, manage and market a wide range of events and products in Africa, ensuring that the target audience is engaged, participate adequately and key messages  are marketed properly, contributing to an outstanding customer journey and experience.


What you will be doing:

  • Give input into and support the implementation of the overarching annual regional Marketing Strategy, Africa; develop project related marketing strategies, plans, calendar is updated in line with the Africa-wide marketing strategy and action plan, reports and budgets for projects and campaigns and develop marketing assets in joint effort with the Brandhub
  • Work with other internal teams for the production of marketing communications and collateral in line with brief.
  • Develop innovative marketing techniques and keep up to date with emerging marketing trends,
  • Business Partnering: Ensuring close client/customer/service provider (agencies etc) liaison and meeting SLAs and delivering on Regional and Market Specific requirements for campaigns.
  • Create, publish and manage content and concepts for regional social media and ther digital activities to positively contribute to revenue by promoting products, support acquisition, progression, retention activities and member, student and prospect related events by utilizing omni channels and tools and consistently find better ways to improve returns for spend in these platforms.
  • Developing, conducting, evaluating, and reporting on customer satisfaction and research market trends & conditions and competitor data.


Internal Marketing

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build employee loyalty programs, brand awareness, and employee satisfaction in conjunction with senior managers.
  • Foster and champion an environment that promotes trust, information sharing, seeking input from others, continuous improvement, innovation, quality outcomes, self-development, and valuing diverse viewpoints based on the Associations behaviours.
  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all internal marketing materials including induction programs.
  • Ensure that employees receive Product training for new products and are also well versed with existing products by offering refresher training


Events Marketing and Management

  • Mange all aspects of assigned events Market level, Regional and Global markets as required.
  • Develop event strategy, event communications plan, budget and objectives. Work collaboratively with line manager and respective Country and Regional Heads to service client needs, and deliver excellent events that meet expectations and objectves.
  • Manage the day-to-day planning and execution of in-person and virtual events, industry conferences, and trade shows, including pre- and post-event communications and attendee management- related to product and revenue related events and utilize relevant systems and platforms for effective provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of event systems and revenue.
  • Collaborate across departments, across the entire oranisation and CoEs (EY, Brand Hub, AICPA Events Team, US CGMA Channel Team, Regions’ Marketing team members) to contribute to meeting design, agenda development, brand building, negotiate sponsorship deals and event communications and marketing and meet global standards and adhere to the global processes for these various stakeholders.
  • Ensuring detailed marketing briefing documents for specified events and conferences in Workfront – managing SLAs and client expectations in order to design, document, and execute innovative events/programs for CIMA Africa & Regions’
  • Managing member & student/other stakeholder satisfaction and reporting: analyse, track and report on event ROI based on predetermined pipeline, revenue, email marketing and project management.


Admin, reporting team collaboration

  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and customer stakeholder relationships with Country Managers, Africa team members, global CoE team (Finance, Accenture, EY, Brand hub, IT, Cvent, agencies)
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate and execute contracts for both large and small scale events; Collaborate with promotional & print vendors and maintain the best relationship possible with those vendors.
  • Procurement & payment process relevant to this role
  • Monthly reporting


What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary education - bachelor’s degree in marketing/branding or related discipline
  • 5+years experience in a marketing role
  • 4 – 7 years event & project management experience
  • Experience managing PPC, SEO, and Affiliate programs.
  • Strong Digital, Social Media & Content Management Skills
  • HR and Budget exposure
  • Knowledge and understanding of best practice employee engagement theory
  • Familiarity with medium to large sized organisations and matrixed structures/reporting lines
  • Advanced proficiency in: Association operating systems, office suites, presentation software, spreadsheets, communication and collaboration tools, social media, data visualisation, and website software
  • You will be required on a sporadic basis to work on weekends
