About the Role:

This is a rare chance for a UK VAT specialist to step beyond VAT and broaden their tax expertise within a global organisation.

You will report to the Director - Tax & Compliance and use a hybrid work schedule. Attendance at our London office required only when needed, currently on a very occasional basis.

You will bring VAT expertise, advisory experience gained in practice, and the ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear, practical solutions that take account of operational realities.

While VAT will remain your main focus, you will also gain exposure to a range of other tax matters, including corporation tax and transfer pricing. We do not require previous experience in these areas, provided you bring curiosity and a willingness to work outside your area of expertise.

With international exposure and scope for career development, this is an opportunity for a VAT professional looking to expand their expertise and contribute within a collaborative global tax team.

You Will:

  • Take ownership of tax matters for entities in the UK and wider Europe region, work with senior partners, and lead high-profile projects. You will also involve yourself in global tax matters, working with colleagues and advisers around the world.
  • Be responsible for accurate preparation and filing of UK VAT returns, EU OSS returns and other foreign indirect tax returns. You will focus on value-adding advisory work, projects and business partnering, while providing technical guidance and mentoring where needed. More junior colleagues will support routine compliance processes.
  • Prepare transaction documentation annually for the external firm which prepares our corporate tax returns, including gathering supporting information from other teams.
  • Ensure indirect tax rules are configured in our technical systems, engaging and partnering with technology staff and product teams.
  • Research and document conclusions on tax matters, preparing guidance and advising other departments within the organisation
  • Prepare tax expense budgets and forecasts, staying up to date with tax law changes affecting taxation of the organisation.
  • Be responsible for accurate journal entries and reconciliations of tax accounts.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Indirect tax experience
  • Accounting experience
