VP - State Advocacy & State Society Relations

About the Role:
You will lead the AICPA's state regulatory and legislative advocacy efforts and the state society relations department. You will implement and oversee strategies that guide the Association and state CPA societies to jointly serve members in all areas of practice. You will direct strategic state society relationships that help the Association protect the public interest, serve shared members and meet strategic goals, including implementing revised state CPA license and CPA mobility changes. You will report to the EVP - Advocacy.
You Will:

Lead the AICPA's state advocacy program, with an emphasis on issues that affect the CPA profession at the state level in both the legislative and regulatory arenas.

Conduct important partner engagements with state boards of accountancy on regulatory issues affecting the CPA profession.

Build relationships and be the primary voice and contact for all partners on state legislative and regulatory issues, including state CPA societies, state boards of accountancy, tax, public accounting firms, AICPA leadership and staff, The Accountants Coalition, NASBA leadership and staff, and elected state legislative and executive branch officials.

Enact important state legislative lobbying strategies that advocate for the profession's priorities in tax, audit and issues related to the CPA license and mobility.

Set the tone, develop strategy, and lead by example, to support coordinated state society relationships across all Association teams, and advocates for state society interests among our teams

Implement opportunities, encourage and support Association collaboration with state societies in new and ongoing programs.

Be a resource for internal and external issues affecting state societies,

Engage EVP AICPA team leaders regarding state society affairs and state advocacy issues that impact multiple departments within the Association.

Conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, provide salary recommendations, monitor and assign work, develop employees; develop work plans and conduct performance evaluations. You will have 5 direct reports.

Bachelors' degree in business, or a related field

15+ years' related experience

The Salary Range for this role is: $275,000-$321,000 per annum. There is no non-wage compensation.
