About the Role:

As a Manager on our Peer Review Team, you will obtain and evaluate data to identify educational opportunities for public accounting firms, peer reviewers, and others involved in administering the AICPA Peer Review Program (Program). The Program is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the quality of accounting, auditing, and attestation engagements performed by public accounting firms in serving the public interest. You'll report to a Senior Manager in Peer Review.

You Will:

  • Positively improve the profession by increasing efforts to enhance audit quality.
  • Consider the effect of professional standards on public accounting firms.
  • Handle unique challenges in a team-oriented environment that provides value to the profession.
  • Work closely with peer reviewers and firms in identifying and resolving questions and issues.
  • Be the liaison with committees, task forces, or regulatory agencies to implement Program strategic plans. Develop meeting materials and provide research and project assistance.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Program and an understanding of its administrative processes. Assist State CPA Society peer review committees, peer reviewers, and firms with peer review questions, including those related to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), quality control and other professional standards.
  • Develop processes to support short and long-term Association strategies and projects, such as Enhancing Audit Quality (EAQ). This includes collaborating with Association teams to identify areas where members and firms need training or clarification to follow professional standards and develop resources to support those needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor fair procedures for peer reviewers and firms, including disagreements, non-cooperation, and subsequent re-enrollment in the Program.
  • Perform technical reviews and oversights of peer reviews.

You Have:

  • CPA designation
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent with an emphasis on audit and attest work
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and quality control standards
  • Experience with managing sensitive information, conflict resolution experience.

The Salary Range for this role is: $85,000 to $108, 900
