Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Solid understanding of the accounting profession
- Background in or in-depth knowledge of state government and state legislative, regulatory and executive branch processes and procedures
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Professional demeanor with the ability to display good judgment and diplomacy in dealing with key stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively and represent the AICPA before stakeholder groups
- Ability to think strategically and problem-solve under pressure
- Strong writing skills and the ability to create message points on legislative and regulatory issues
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to be a consensus builder and to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to travel domestically
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
- Minimum of 12 years related experience
- Previous experience in leading and managing a team
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education
- MBA degree preferred
- Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation
