Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the VP Examinations to ensure that the key initiatives and imperatives from the Association leadership Team, the CGMA Exam Board and others are addressed accurately and timely.
  • Direct the Examination processes from production through to results delivery which includes the Assessment managers who oversee the Objective Test development process and the Case Study Exam development process.
  • Mange the candidate and channel management processes which includes the Exam Operations Manager who oversees day to day candidate contact, complaint management, candidate services (such as special accommodations) and test centre (channel) management with the test delivery partners.
  • Set priorities and direction for the entire Exam Development and Production Group. Management of the strategic partnership with test delivery partners.
  • Work closely with the Examinations leadership team to support the preparation of information for Board of Examiners meetings and related items.
  • Oversee the work of the Exam Development Group to ensure new test items are ordered/produced timely to result in a continuous flow of inventory test questions.
  • Provision of agreed monthly reports to line management
  • Oversee the Production Group to ensure that the quarterly QTI package and Test Spec.files are produced accurately and timely; oversee ongoing interaction between the Production Group and Pearson VUE in the test development and finalization.
  • Direct the Examination Content Inventory Development, which includes the process to generate Objective Tests and Case study exams; exam results: including grading and test publication
  • Oversee the Exam Operations Group to ensure that candidate services are delivered within SLAs and that the Pearson VUE test delivery network is sufficient to meet volume requirements.
  • Oversee SME and vendor relationships. Oversee the process currently used to develop examinations, and explore with the existing and possibly other vendors adding this work to the contracts. Ensure all work is properly documented in accordance with the Examination Team policies and subject to supervisory review and approval.
  • Support the development of staff, particularly through the release of resources on a part time basis to examination and assessment projects.
  • Track budgets to ensure that the Examinations team remains within financial tolerances.
  • Work closely with the Compliance Manager to ensure that an appropriate system of internal controls is in place.
  • Maintain ongoing interaction with the Compliance Manager to ensure all audit responsibilities and requests (i.e., audits, Internal Audit, ISO, Biz, and Agreed upon Procedures audits, etc.) are handled appropriately and timely.
  • Bring assessment expertise to educational and learning projects not traditionally considered within the remit of Examinations to drive the development of innovative learning products.
  • To monitor student feedback on the exam centre experience and work with key Partners to drive satisfaction and improvements.
  • Lead the cross organizational Exams Process Group to coordinate and control all aspects of the delivery of exams across the organisation.
  • Ensure that an appropriate system of internal control is in place in the Exam Production Group and over the inventory development process.  This includes establishing policies (where needed) and procedures that are designed to ensure that internal controls are in place and operating effectively.
  • Have an active participation and leadership role in the ongoing process and procedures to develop and implement computerized enhancements to the Examination.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Familiarity with psychometric concepts and experience in working with Psychometricians.
  • Superior supervisory skills with the ability to hire, coach and develop staff.
  • Superior operational and internal control focus with the ability to implement change as needed to ensure that an appropriate system of controls is in place and operating effectively
  • Superior written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build working alliances at all levels
  • Superior computer skills and familiarity with databases, computer technologies and systems.
  • Experienced in working with computer professionals as part of the examination preparation and delivery process.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Hands on and detail oriented with the ability to see the larger policy issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility with the ability to travel occasionally
  • Market awareness and strong business acumen to ensure that exam products are both defensible and commercially sound.
  • Experience of developing and delivering exams in languages other than English.
 
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the field with experience in the overall process of developing complex test questions in a high-stakes professional computerized examination as a Professional Test Development Manager or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree
 
 
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • Management Accounting subject matter expertise preferred.
