About the Role:
You will have end-to-end accountability for the global payroll function of the Association for our 1500 employee population. You will have accountability to guide the transformation of the finance organization from a regional-based Association to a Global Business Services (GBS) model, delivery of payroll services and process improvement to deliver better employee experience, enhance quality and control. You will ensure compliance with policy and statutory requirements. You will report to the Director Finance - Global Business Services and have up to 4 direct reports. The team is office-based.
You Will:
Complete the Association's employee payroll and ensure accurate disbursement of temporary staff agency fees, payroll processing fees, payment and filing of related statutory returns. Ensure completion of the annual Workers' Compensation audit, Deferred Compensation and 401K Profit Share computation and disbursements.
Ensure P&L account and balance sheet reflects the payroll expenditure, pre-payments and liabilities with closure of payroll month-end, reconciliation of payroll accounts and initiating adjustment entries.
Build analytical reviews to understand payroll cost trends, and correlations of critical metrics, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
As the Global Process Owner (GPO), provide efficient and compliant solutions to support new benefit structures and statutory requirements and engaging right people for decision-making.
Initiate change management, communication and training related to payroll changed processes to support HR, employees and other partners adapt to the new normal.
Manage escalations, address root-causes of recurrent problems, create solutions assessing the processes and collaborate with teams to innovatively resolve business and operational issues.
Build relationships with payroll service providers for each country determining terms of engagement, service catalogue and fees.
Design the right team structure and optimise team capacity. Make hiring and exit recommendations, manage performance and development of team members. Facilitate internal succession. Manage Payroll Team budget covering team expenses, overtime and other assigned project costs.
Manage all global audits related to payroll tower, engage with auditors to explain the integrity of Association's payroll function. Develop and implement any remediation action to address audit findings.
Develop and implement Payroll Policy for the Association.
Ensure the control framework of the Payroll Tower safeguards the assets of the Association, and that processes comply to all regulatory requirements, accounting conventions, and corporate policies.
Manage SLAs and KPIs of the team, ensuring right measures are in place to assess the team's performance and robustness of financial outcomes. Manage partner expectations.
Improve the payroll process standardization and optimization as the US, UK and Regional processes consolidate at the GBS centre.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and help develop the right parameters of the to-be payroll processes for technology advancements and transformation projects.
You Have:
8+ years' managerial experience in payroll in GBS environment.
2+ years experience in finance.
Bachelor's Degree in finance and accounting, or equivalent professional financial qualification.
Experience managing senior partners.
Experience in Lean/Six Sigma and leading process improvements.
Experience in project management.
Experience managing service delivery of global or regional payroll processes.
Technical and business knowledge of Payroll Tower
Experience in service delivery in a GBS environment, managing through stringent SLAs.
Experience to organise data, analyse, draw insights and make decisions in a changing and Agile environment.
